A slow wind will blow, so a sea breeze and much cooler weather is expected on the coast, fog is possible. The air temperature on the sea coast will fluctuate around +10 degrees.

In Riga, the sun will only be obscured by clouds at times, no precipitation is expected. On the coast of the sea bay, fog is possible and the air temperature may drop below +10 degrees, but in the southern part of the city the air will warm up to +23 degrees. A slow variable wind will blow.

The weather is defined by an area of ​​low pressure. Atmospheric pressure at sea level is 1010-1013 hectopascals.

March this year was the hottest ever recorded and the 10th hottest month in a row, and sea surface temperatures also reached a “shocking” new record, the European Union’s (EU) Climate Change Service “Copernicus” (C3S), which monitors climate observation.

Since June 2023, every month has been recognized as the hottest, and March 2024 was no exception.

C3S said that the average global temperature in March was 1.68 degrees Celsius above the average March temperature between 1850 and 1900, the reference period for the pre-industrial era.

The previous March temperature record was beaten by just 0.1C, but the wider trend is more worrying, said Samantha Burgess, deputy director of C3S. In March, temperatures were higher than average in many places on Earth, from parts of Africa to Greenland, South America and Antarctica.

March also concluded the hottest 12-month period, with average temperatures 1.58 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
