Will Belgium take further steps to deal with the coronavirus? A council of ministers is held today

The Restricted Council of Ministers (KERN) and the competent ministers have planned to meet this Sunday at the request of the Prime Minister at 16, Rue de la Loi. The federal government will take stock of the situation regarding the development of the Covid-19 virus in Belgium. This appointment was announced before we even learned of the confirmation of a new coronavirus case in Belgium.

The meeting will be attended by the president of the FPS Health, Tom Auwers. The Prime Minister, Sophie Wilmès, will also hold a meeting of the consultation committee with the various minister-presidents of the federated entities of the country as well as the other ministers concerned by the problem on Wednesday March 4, at 8:00 am in Lambermont, adds the press release.

“We will see at the end of this meeting if further measures are taken. For the moment, nothing indicates. A concertation committee is already scheduled for Wednesday between the various health ministers”, explains our journalist Mathieu Col.

On his arrival rue de la Loi, the president of the Open VLD Alexander De Croo assured that there was no need to worry: “I think we have to stay calm. Today in Belgium there are 2 cases. There is no point in having a reaction that goes too far at the moment but we have to prepare. The first priority is to ‘avoid new infections as much as possible’.
