Wibi Soerjadi slept badly after burglary: “They will come to your safe place anyway” | NOW

Wibi Soerjadi suffered from sleep problems after his house was broken into. The pianist tells this in an interview with AD.

On March 2, the villa of Soerjadi in Diepenheim in Twente was broken into. Surjadi celebrated his fiftieth birthday at Disneyland Paris at the time of the crime. The thieves took televisions, various items of clothing and a horse carriage out of the house. Shortly after the burglary, the pianist said that he slept on the couch because his bed linen had been stolen.

The crime resulted in sleep problems for Soerjadi. “It is very bad that there have been people in your house,” he said in the interview. “If you hear something during the night, you will wander through your house and look around. You only sleep half. They come to your safe place anyway.” The pianist even considered moving, but because of the support he received from his environment, he eventually decided not to.

After a week and a half, the Hengelo police arrested three suspects. Some of the stolen items were also found. Soerjadi has now been able to handle the burglary reasonably well. “I am happy that I was not at home during the burglary, because you don’t want to meet those guys.”
