The Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP), will not paralyze teaching again due to the demands of salary increase and other demands that require the Ministry of Education and that they are consigned in the agreement signed last year in the presence of President Luis Abinader.
Eduardo Hidalgo announced that next Tuesday the national board of directors of the ADPmade up of 21 members of the National Executive Committee and 155 branch presidents, and there they will evaluate the second stage of the mobilization and teaching plan and other innovative initiatives of struggle, which do not include the strike.
“We are connecting with the feelings of the teachers and the society in general, as of April 19 the ADP it will be showing its muscles, but through other innovative actions that do not include leaving the classrooms”, he said.
The union president said that the ADP He does not receive a response from President Abinader of the letter in which they accept their willingness to mediate, in the crisis that confronts them with Education.
“We are willing to attend a meeting with the President or with the minister. The truth is that it is very sad to inform the country today (yesterday) that we have not received a response. I know that the President has had a very tight agenda these days and I know that he is going to take the space out of it for the more than 130,000 teachers who are organized in the ADPHidalgo said.
On the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the foundation of the ADP, its directors laid a floral offering at the Altar of the Fatherland and pointed out that the Educational Pact is a dead letter for the MINERD, as well as the agreement signed on June 30, 2021, where Not only was the salary increase recorded.

Promoters in the Minerd
The president of the ADP denounced that while the Minister of Education, Roberto Fulcar, refuses to sit down to discuss a salary increase for teachers, since last month he has been appointing hundreds of “promoters” with salaries of 50,000 pesos.
Hidalgo said he did not know what the people they are appointing in the Minerd are going to promote, nor what is the purpose of that action.
“I don’t know what those promoters are for, that doesn’t exist in the organization chart of the Ministry of Education, that’s a new figure. Each minister always comes with something new, this one comes with promoters. Promote what? I don’t know,” said the union leader.
Given these appointments, it was questioned what use the district, regional and national technicians of the Ministry of Education.
4% to promote aspirations
Hidalgo assured that educational quality will be a reality when the 4% is destined to create learning conditions in the school and not to create power structures for the future presidential aspirations of the current minister.
