The BBC reported on the 1st that “the human remains were found in Lake Lupkund, located at an altitude of 5029m in the Himalayas of the Indoin Province.”

Since the British Forest Service discovered the remains in 1942, every time the snow melts, the skeletons have been spit out, and about 800 remains have been discovered to date.

Several anthropologists and scientists have studied the remains, but no clear reason has been found.

The most widely accepted theory is that about 800 years ago, the king and his followers were killed in a blizzard, and that it is a cemetery for the victims of infectious diseases.

However, a recent carbon dating of the remains revealed that they are more than 1200 years old.

Especially, the fact that the remains are made up of different races raises further questions. The remains of those with the genes of India and those of those living in Crete, Greece were found mixed.

Opinions are also divided over the limitations of why the bodies of people living in the Mediterranean were found in the Himalayas.

“We’re curious too,” said Hani Eadaoin from Harvard University, the head of the research, and “we’re still looking for answers.”
