WHO: There is no reason to stop vaccination with AstraZeneca Covid-19
Geneva, March 12, LETA – AFP. The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday that there was no reason to stop vaccination with AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine.
The WHO stated that it was currently investigating data on the safety of the vaccine and emphasized that no causal link had been found between the vaccine and the formation of blood clots.
Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Italy and Romania have stopped or restricted the use of AstraZeneca Covid-19 because some patients develop blood clots after vaccination.
“AstraZeneca is a great vaccine,” said a WHO spokeswoman, noting that no deaths to date have been shown to be caused by the AstraZeneca vaccine.
“Yes, we should continue to use the AstraZeneca vaccine,” a WHO spokeswoman said, but stressed that any concerns about the safety of the vaccine should be investigated.
