“North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, the Bangka Belitung Islands, DI Yogyakarta, Bali and Central Sulawesi remain at the highest levels of community transmission (CT4) in weekly COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population, confirmed weekly numbers,” the WHO wrote in its report. .
In addition, the death rate per 100,000 population is still high. WHO recommends that restrictions remain in place and that Corona vaccination be accelerated.
“Covid-19 deaths per 100,000 population and the proportion of positive test results range from 22 to 57%. Continued implementation of public health and social distancing measures (PHSM) and accelerated vaccination is needed to reduce COVID-19 transmission and deaths in this and other provinces. ,” continued WHO.
Furthermore, WHO also highlighted the decline in Corona cases but accompanied by a decrease in the number of tests. The number of people tested for Corona as of August 5-11 decreased compared to the previous week.
“The number of daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia continues to decline. However, the number of tests carried out in the country has also decreased. During the week, namely August 5-11, the Task Force (Satgas) reported that the number of people tested was 930,513: a decrease from a total of 1,008,665 people were tested during the previous week. By August 18, the number of people tested per day had dropped to 78,626,” he said.
