“My family joined the organization [keagamaan] and our lives became even more difficult after donating money to the organization,” Yamagami told the police on Friday (8/7), quoted from The Asahi Shimbun.

“I wanted to target the top officials of the organization, but it was difficult. So, I targeted Abe because I believed he was related [ke organisasi itu]. I want to kill him,” continued Yamagami.

Yamagami’s father owned a construction company but died when he was a child.

Meanwhile, Yamagami’s mother takes over the company. However, the mother later became a member of a religious group and donated much to the organization.

Seeing this condition, Yamagami’s relatives think that the mother is trying to find answers to life through religious organizations.

“She is a widow, and I think she is unsure about her family’s future,” the relative said.

After Yamagami’s mother focused on religious organizations, the relative said he started getting calls from the Yamagami brothers because “We don’t have food at home.”

The man then gave them money to live on. The relative also gave them food several times.

Growing up, Yamagami attends an ‘elite’ high school in Nara Prefecture. This category is pinned because most graduates in high school are accepted at good universities.

After graduating from high school, Yamagami entered a technical school.

Yamagami is also known to be a member of the Japanese Navy for three years. He joined the agency since 2002.

This information was confirmed by an official close to the Ministry of Defense.
