They look straight out of a comic book, but the terror they sow is very real. For several months, a collective of rappers who are inspired by the enemies of Lucky Luke chained provocations against the police. This did not prevent them from being invited to the Touche plateau, not at my post this Monday, November 8, 2021.
For several months now, the inhabitants of Lyon have been worried about the idea of crossing in their street dark individuals dressed in black and yellow striped suitss. Nothing to do with Halloween: these men who call themselves the Daltons are part of a collective of outlaws who sow terror in the streets of the capital of the Gauls. Unlike their Lucky Luke comic book alter-egos, these men don’t rob banks. On the other hand, they are increasing the actions that worry the general public.
Wild rodeos and provocations
Originally, the Daltons are rappers. But in recent months, they have become known more for their dangerous attitude than for their music. Since February 2021, they have organized several urban rodeos across the city, generating a real wave of concern among residents. Masked individuals have fun passing at full speed between pedestrians and cars, on motorcycles or karts, before posting their exploits on social networks … including in front of places at risk, such as in front of a school. of the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon.
The town hall and the police are trying as best they can to put an end to these actions, and the mayor Les Républicains of the 2nd arrondissement of the city does not hide his concern: “It’s been three weeks since the Daltons have come to provoke the Lyon town hall and the prefecture. They pass a few centimeters from pedestrians. The traders say that they bring the elderly into the stores. It is a very dangerous game, “he told BFM TV. Especially since unless the Daltons are caught in the act, it is difficult to make arrests, since most of the members of the collective are anonymous, hidden behind masks.
Arrests and demands
In addition, the famous Daltons say they do not fear arrest. “The prison that does not scare us, we know the prison, there is no problem for that. The prison is like the house”, they confided on condition of anonymity to the chain of continuous info. One of their leaders, Mahdi Fiad aka Many GT, spent several months behind bars for organizing urban rodeos, as well as for illegal possession of weapons during the filming of the music videos. Since August, five men have already been arrested, in particular after invading the lawn during a football match at Groupama Stadium, while Olympique Lyonnais faced Sparta Prague. A new provocation which the collective welcomed on social networks. Several trials are scheduled for November 26.

Several members of the Daltons are wanted by the police. But, protected by their anonymity, they were able to come and taunt the authorities by responding to Cyril Hanouna’s invitation. If you think this is not a good way to express yourself … Look, here we are,” say they evoke the media turmoil they generate. However, they seem ready to calm things down, since they said: “We never broke or burn anything. We will continue otherwise, the goal is not to shock people. Some kids ask us to participate, we tell them to go back to their studies. We are not here to advocate violence. These are simple clips. It’s still fiction. ” A position that is difficult to understand when you know that their actions can put people in danger.
48 hours before their appearance on television, they had already mentioned this desire to calm down … Under certain conditions. In a message posted on social networks, they demand the release of their leader Many GT, on the pretext that the latter has “already served a good part of his sentence”, and demand a “feat” with the singer Angèle, who comes to release his new single. And in the meantime, they seem determined to continue playing cat and mouse with the police.
