WHO WARNING – Both syrups, says WHO, “can have entry permissions marketed in other countries of the European Region. They might as well have been distributed, through informal markets, in other countries or regions”. Diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol, explains WHO, are toxic to humans when consumed and they can prove fatal. The contaminated products “referred to in this warning are not safe and their use, especially in children, can cause serious effects or even the death”
