The former SVP Federal Council fell badly while hiking in the Engadine. The 79-year-old told this in his own weekly program Teleblocher.

Blocher had fallen violently once before. In 2017 he fell in the Federal Palace so difficult that he had to be operated on. He broke his nose several times. A puddle of water on the ground was to blame, said the then SVP President Toni Brunner in an interview with 20 minutes. And in 2005 Blocher fell from a podium during the Sächsilüte broadcast by Tele Züri. At that time Blocher was uninjured.
