In just six months since the beginning of the year, 209 accidents occurred in the region, 235 people were injured, 59 people died.
The most problematic and long sections are the Aktau-Beineu-Atyrau and Aktau-Zhetybay-Zhanaozen highways. High mortality in these areas contributes to the dense traffic and the irresponsibility of drivers.
– More than 95 percent of accidents occur precisely because of the fault of drivers. Often rules are broken intentionally. Another problem of accidents is stray animals. Unfortunately, it is often impossible to establish the owners of such animals – many are not registered, veterinary measures are not properly organized. All these problems require systemic solutions, the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
The prosecutor’s office sees the solution both in the active use of intelligent transport systems and in raising the level of preventive measures. According to the results of the meeting, relevant recommendations were given to the authorized and interested state bodies.
