In the previous year, between March and December 2020, employees in the health professions and childcare were unable to work in connection with Covid-19. This is shown by an analysis of the corresponding data of the AOK members by the Scientific institute of the AOK (Wido).
In total, 289,282 of the 13.6 million AOK-insured employees received a certificate of incapacity for work from a doctor in connection with a Covid-19 diagnosis. The health insurance company has determined the following data for the economic sector “finance and insurance”:
- Insurance traders: 2,005 sick people per 100,000 employed AOK members in connection with Covid-19 and 1,049 sick people with a documented diagnosis for Covid-19.
- Bankers: 2,555 sick people per 100,000 working AOK members in connection with Covid-19 and 1,465 sick people with the documented diagnosis.
- Employed in social administration and insurance: 2,791 patients per 100,000 employed AOK members in connection with Covid-19 and 1,486 patients with the documented diagnosis.
An evaluation of the Barmer Health insurance for 20 professional groups with those most affected by Corona. Here, too, employees in the insurance and financial services were comparatively seldom unable to work due to a Covid 19 disease (VersicherungsJournal February 16, 2021).
