From the report of financial results Ubisoft for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, players learned, among other things, about the postponement of the action game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. However, in the context of economically uncertain times, it also results in a tendency to resort to best practices and guaranteed box-office successes. With the exception of the mentioned Avatar, the French publisher also postponed a kind of as yet unannounced premium title of a smaller scale. According to many, it is a continuation of the flagship Assassin’s Creed series, subtitled Rift.
Thief of Baghdad
The game, which according to earlier speculation should take place in Baghdad, was originally planned for this fiscal year, so it should have been released no later than March of next year. The originally planned DLC for last year’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla turned out to be a more ambitious project, which the creators decided to develop into a unique game in an attempt to fill the empty spaces in the publishing plan. According to sources my box however, the title is facing new production complications that have forced it to be shelved.

Although opinions abound on gaming forums and social networks that Ubisoft has stagnated creatively in recent years, the Assassin’s Creed brand continues to enjoy high popularity and significant earnings.
To some extent, Rift can also be understood as Ubisoft’s attempt to bridge a dull period, while internal studies continue to work on the Infinity platform, which should unite all future titles under one roof.
After Rift comes Red
The first sequel built on the new technology should be a project codenamed Red. According to journalist Jeff Grubb, players will finally see the longed-for Japan in it. Although the sources of the mentioned magazine are similarly not specific, they agree on a setting somewhere in Asia, for which fans have been calling in vain for a long time.
