The situation in Shibuya has gotten worse, but Yuta is nowhere to be found Jujutsu Kaisen. Why doesn’t he help the exorcists?
Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen currently presents the brutal arc of the Shibuya Drama, as the situation deteriorates with each episode. If Gojo being sealed wasn’t too bad yet, episode 16 showed Sukuna going on a rampage against Jogo, leading to the destruction of much of the neighborhood.
The fight with Dagon also proved that everyone present in Shibuya, even the strongest exorcists, are no match for the terrifying enemies. Gojo was the only one who could have defeated them all, but he was sealed away before the fight even began.

The only hope now lies in Yuta, who is also a special grade exorcist, but he is nowhere in sight. The character only appeared in the prequel film and has yet to make a return in the current timeline. But then, where is Yuta Okkutsu during the Shibuya Drama nightmare in Jujutsu Kaisen ?

As the exorcists experience their worst nightmare in the Shibuya Drama arc of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuta Okkotsu trains in Africa with Miguel. Miguel was one of the plague masters present during the Parade of Scourges, initiated by Geto in the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

Gojo defeated Miguel, who was the strongest among Geto’s group of bane masters. He even destroyed Miguel’s Black Strings and forced him to train Yuta to Africa. We know that Megumi briefly mentions the fact that Yuta is abroad, without going into detail.

Therefore, Yuta has no role in the Shibuya arc. However, it is still possible that season 2 ends with the appearance of the character, because his presence will be crucial in the animated series from season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
