The direction of the President’s support Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the 2024 presidential election, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani is wondering. Actually, where is Jokowi’s support directed?
Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI) Adi Prayitno expressed his analysis. He said Puan’s statement was a form of affirmation.
“Puan’s statement actually wants to emphasize that if Jokowi is behind supporting Prabowo, he should openly convey it to his party, PDIP,” Adi told reporters, Wednesday (18/10/2023).
Because if there is no firm statement from Jokowi, the public will speculate. This will of course be linked to an atmosphere of disharmony within the party.
“So Puan’s statement represents Jokowi’s public statement towards whom (leans)? Even though at the same time the public knows that Jokowi is indeed more inclined towards Prabowo than Ganjar. That cannot be denied and is an open secret,” added Adi.
“So Puan’s statement is a diplomatic statement as a form of political communication to avoid that PDIP knows too much, PDIP knows exactly Jokowi’s political choices even though PDIP actually knows that Jokowi can no longer be collaborated with and it is like the public’s belief that Pak Jokowi supports Prabowo Subianto more than Reward,” he continued,

Previously, Puan Maharani admitted that she also wanted to know whether Jokowi still supported Ganjar Pranowo after Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md was declared as vice presidential candidate.
“The question must be asked by Pak Jokowi, not me, so we will ask the President if he comes home and still supports Pak Ganjar Pranowo or has another choice,” said Puan at the PDIP DPP, Jakarta, Wednesday (18/10/2023). Puan answered about Jokowi’s direction of support now.
Puan admitted that she did not know where Jokowi would anchor his support. He also admitted that he wanted to know this.
