When returning from missions abroad, soldiers must observe self-isolation – in Latvia

Soldiers of the National Armed Forces (NAF) returning from missions in Covid-19 severely affected countries must also observe 14 days of self-isolation, as required by law, confirmed the representative of the Ministry of Defense Sandra Brāle.

She explained that, for example, if a mission takes place in the United States, then local laws governing behavior are followed. Namely, it is necessary to present a negative Covid-19 test, as well as all Covid-19 restrictive measures, such as hand washing, social distancing and the like. When returning to Latvia, these soldiers will have to be in self-isolation for 14 days.

It has already been reported that persons returning to Latvia from countries on the red or yellow list, or where the number of Covid-19 infected persons per 100,000 persons exceeds 16, need to observe self-isolation for 14 days after returning to the country. Non-compliance is also subject to administrative penalties.
