Since the start of the health crisis, public hospitals have no longer hesitated to enter into partnerships with the private sector. Example in Val-de-Marne.

At the Sainte-Camille hospital, located in Bry-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne), the care services are saturated and it is impossible to maintain all the operations. Healthcare workers are overwhelmed by Covid-19 cases. The intensive care unit is reaching 130% of its capacity and patients continue to arrive in crowds. Stretchers must even be parked in boxes at the reception, due to lack of space.
“We have exceeded our authorized capacities for several weeks already. We are in a very fragile organization“, explains Julie Chastres, general manager of the Sainte-Camille hospital. So, to avoid the deprogramming of certain operations, a partnership has been forged with the private clinic of the same department. An essential helping hand. Since the establishment of the device last October, 15 hospital patients were able to be operated on in the private clinic, without paying additional fees.
