When Five Garuda Airplanes “Wear” Masks … Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – There are many ways that can be done to support government education programs through the “Let’s Wear Masks” movement.

Garuda Indonesia, for example, displays a visual mask on the nose of an Airbus A330-900 Neo aircraft.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfaniaputra, said that Garuda Indonesia continues to support various efforts made by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“It is an honor for us to be the first national airline in Indonesia to showcase this livery specifically for planes with masks, ”said Irfan in a statement received by Kompas.com, Monday.

Irfan added, his party realizes that efforts to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic certainly require full support and the active role of various parties.

“Hopefully, the efforts we do can also increase public awareness of the application of health protocols in everyday life, especially through the use of masks,” said Irfan.

Irfan explained that there were five Garuda Indonesia planes whose fronts featured visual masks. Nanntinya, these planes will serve domestic and international routes, including Singapore and Japan routes.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Erick Thohir expressed his appreciation for the initiative carried out by Garuda Indonesia.

“The highest appreciation from the Committee to Garuda Indonesia for taking an active role in socializing the use of masks in a unique way. The plan is that apart from domestic, there will also be routes that go abroad. This is very good, so that the world community also knows that Indonesia is the number one health management, “said Erick.

In addition to the use of masks, Garuda Indonesia also ensures that health protocols run optimally in all flight operational lines.

For example, through procedures for maintaining the distance between passengers, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the crew on duty, providing food in disposable containers and serving without close contact.

In addition, there are also aircraft cabin disinfection activities which are carried out regularly and through education to passengers related to the air filtration system on aircraft which is able to filter dust, particles and viruses up to 99.97 percent.

Furthermore, in order to optimize the mask use campaign, Garuda Indonesia held an aircraft mask livery design competition entitled “Fly Your Design Through The Sky” which was held throughout October 2020.

Through this competition, Garuda Indonesia also provides opportunities for the public to display the creativity and design of aircraft mask livery through social media platforms which will later design masks. livery best will be chosen to be used by Garuda Indonesia on other aircraft.
