When Elon Musk tweets that the Pyramids of Giza were built by extraterrestrials, the Egyptians reply

The construction of the Pyramids of Giza has long been at the center of the craziest theories. Indeed, the superhuman effort and the technical precision which led to these impressive buildings nourished many assumptions advancing that they were probably built by “superior beings” or even extraterrestrials. And we can say that for some, this theory has a hard tooth.

Apparently Elon Musk is among those who believe in it. A tweet from last Friday, in which he shares this vision of things, has indeed panicked the web. Having generated no less than 500,000 likes, his post declaring that “Extraterrestrials are at the origin of the construction of the Pyramids of Giza” did not go unnoticed by Egyptian officials.

It was Rania Al-Mashat herself, Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, who took care to respond to the tweet of the CEO of SpaceX, in order to prove to him that this assumption is wrong. Before inviting Musk to come to Egypt to see it for himself.

When Elon Musk clings to an unfounded theory of alien architects

Last Saturday, Rania al-Mashat therefore encouraged Elon Musk to come and take a look at the documents that speak of the construction of these monuments. Thus, the Egyptian minister invites Musk to go to Egypt, in order to see for himself these pyramids and to discover the tombs of their builders.

Al-Mashat did not fail to point out that she admires the work of Elon Musk and his firm, SpaceX. To close her message, Rania al-Mashat wrote: “We are waiting for you”.

Apparently realizing his mistake, the SpaceX CEO then tweeted a link to a BBC article, confirming that the Pyramids of Giza were indeed built by humans.

The Egyptian minister was not the only one to react

Having been retweeted thousands of times, Elon Musk’s famous tweet caused quite a stir among internet users.

One of the main concerned, Zahi Hawass, Egyptian archaeologist behind the discovery of the tombs of the builders of the Pyramids of Giza, stressed that Elon Musk’s statements were just staggering.

Zahi Hawass has indeed clarified in Egypt Today, an Egyptian magazine published monthly, that the tombs he discovered prove that in addition to having been humans, these builders were indeed Egyptians, but not slaves like some theories indicate it.
