WhatsApp will crash on several mobile phones. See if yours is on the list – Gadgets

It will be from November 1 that WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging services in the world, will stop working on several mobile phones. In total, 43 smartphone models will no longer be compatible with the application that belongs to the Facebook group, which has since changed its name to Meta.

The change has to do with the fact that, as the application becomes more and more advanced and with new features, it is not possible to keep it updated on devices with old operating systems — whether they’re iPhones or Android phones.

When it comes to the Apple ecosystem, WhatsApp recommends that users have a device that is compatible with iOS 10 operating system or later. On Android, the company recommends using a version above 4.1.

This means that, as of November 1st, all models that do not have access to these operating systems will no longer work. On the iPhone, this only includes the iPhone 4s, released in 2011. The iPhone SE, 6s and 6s Plus were released on the market with iOS 9, but can be upgraded to the latest version of the new iOS (version 15), the which means they will be able to continue using the application.

When it comes to Samsung’s range of smartphones, the list goes on. These are the ones that will no longer be compatible with WhatsApp as of next Monday: Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy XCover 2, Galaxy Core and Galaxy Ace 2.

From the Sony range, the Sony Xperia Miro, Xperia Neo L and Xperia Arc S will also no longer be compatible.

On the Huawei, these are the affected models: Huawei Ascend G740, Ascend Mate, Ascend D Quad XL, Ascend D1 Quad XL, Ascend P1 S and Ascend D2.
