WhatsApp is constantly on the move to improve its functions, bring new ones, in order to become the essential messaging system. After better management of group calls, more powers conferred on administrators, or the possibility of listening to voice messages again before sending them, the platform wants to become your real phone.

For this, it has been reworking its interface for some time. This was first to show more participants and then to become more intuitive for iPhone users. This time it looks like it’s to prepare for future additions for all registrants.

More modern and more modular

The WABetaInfo site, which tracks the slightest improvements even when testing WhatsApp, has spotted new features under development, particularly concerning the voice call interface. You could now join ongoing group WhatsApp calls. It could be even better organized in the future.

And for that, space is needed on the screen to display the information of all the participants. So, the Meta service redesigns its interface, already drawing inspiration from Apple’s FaceTime for the appearance in video.

WABetaInfo has thus identified a redesigned ergonomics, also more modern with its tiles and its curves. It appears more compact to better visually center use and information. We could envisage the appearance, in the event of a group call, of faces more easily in the form of small squares. This future update would affect both iOS and Android users, according to the site. For the moment, it has not yet been deployed in the beta test phase.
