O WhatsApp, instant messaging platform, started to release the function that allows to accelerate the speed of the audios. However, so far, there has only been information that the functionality is valid for devices with Android systems.
Twitter users reported receiving the function to save time when playing voice messages in the Android application. However, none of those who reported said they owned a device with the iOS system.
Posts about the new feature started appearing on Wednesday (21). “WhatsApp put the function of increasing the speed of audio up to 2x”, said a user on Twitter. “Now you can speed up the audio on WhatsApp,” reported another Internet user.
The new functionality appears as a tag below the audio media received by the user. In this space, it displays the audio playback speed and three acceleration options: 1x, 1.5x and 2x.
According to all the information captured so far, it is not yet known if the tool is only available for Android. In addition, it is still unknown whether the feature was only released to users of the test group (Beta), or also in the last update of the platform.
With the new function, WhatsApp is close to Telegram, which also has a similar feature. In 2018, the app was updated with the option to speed up the playback speed of voice messages by 2x, very different from WAPP, which offers three options in the same category.
