Whatsapp Makes Features Make Cheating Safer, Here’s How

The feature is called Disappearing Messages. From this feature can delete sent messages in space message sent automatically so that it is suspected that it will make it easier for people who are having an affair.

This new feature can be activated by default. With that, everyone chat sent will disappear according to the selected duration.

The company also added a new option to make messages disappear in groups. However, the feature is optional and does not change anything that already exists.

“Whatsapp users will have the option of activating disappearing messages automatically default for all chat. When activating it, all chat You or someone else will be set to disappear for the selected duration,” wrote Whatsapp quoted Saturday (6/25/2022).

“And we’ve added new options when creating chat group which allows you to enable it for the created groups. This feature is made optional and does not modify or delete chat which has existed”.

When the feature is active, there will be a notification about it on chat so that the interlocutor knows.

“This makes it clear if not a personal matter, this is a choice made regarding how you want to communicate with everyone on Whatsapp going forward,” the Meta subsidiary said.

At the same time, Whatsapp also adds two durations for messages to disappear. There are currently 24 hours and 90 days, in addition to the pre-existing 7 day option.

To enable ‘Disappearing Messages’, go to Settings/After WhatsApp > click Account > Privacy > Default message timer, finally select the duration. If the option is not present, then the user will have to update the app to the latest version.

Whatsapp argues that this new feature gives a definition of what private messaging service means now. And also makes the company closer to private conversation activities.

“We believe disappearing messages with end-to-end encryption are the two features that define what it means to be a private messaging service today, and bring us closer to the feeling of an interpersonal conversation,” said Whatsapp.
