WhatsApp Improves Reactions Feature in Latest Update

WhatsApp has been reluctant to add many features to its messaging app, however, in recent months we are seeing a change. The messenger has received many new features from the long-awaited cross-device support to the largest communities and the new reactions feature. The app finally seems to adopt a more aggressive behavior and finally gets features that have been available in Telegram for years. Speaking of reactions, the new feature works just like Facebook reactions and is already popular among users. After all, it allows you to simply “react” to certain messages rather than sending simple replies. The app currently comes with up to six emoji reactions, but more improvements are coming soon.

The latest version of WhatsApp for iOS brings new improvements for reactions. According WABetaInfo, the latest beta 22.12.0.70 brings some interesting changes. The tweak basically allows users to react to photos on an automatic album. When you send a few photos in a chat, WhatsApp collects them as an album. From now on, users of the stable version of the application will not know who reacted to each photo. With the new update, you will be able to know what the reaction is to each photo.

The post reads:

“In the previous version, users could not understand which photos or videos in an automatic album received a reaction without opening it. With this Reactions feature, WhatsApp beta users can now see a media tile directly in the reaction information: the media tile helps the user understand what media they reacted to in an auto album. »

In addition to this, WhatsApp is preparing a new “2.0” iteration for Reactions. This update will boost the possibilities of the feature. After all, it will allow users to react with any available emoji. For now, the function is under development. WhatsApp has long been well known for its “under the hood” cooking features. The recently released multi-device feature is just another feature that is in development.

We assume WhatsApp Reactions will provide the usual icons with the addition of a “+” button. Once you click on it, you will open a list with all the emojis to select and react to. Perhaps the most frequent ones will be pinned in the balloon. This is just speculation, given what Meta is currently doing with Instagram direct messages.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for Android devices to get these new tweaks. Interestingly, WhatsApp recently announced the end of support for iPhone 5 and 5C running on older versions of iOS. The messenger has also been implicated in the midst of a new scam.
