A message with a fake competition is currently spreading on Whatsapp. There should be a VW Tiguan to be won, allegedly on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Volkswagen. In fact, the message was circulated by criminals and was used to access personal information.
Who on the supposed Contest If you want to participate and follow the link in the message, you should first answer a few suspiciously simple questions. But to take part in the competition, the user should share the message with five WhatsApp groups or 20 contacts. Then the makers want the names and addresses of their victims – supposedly so that they can send the profits home to them.

With so-called Phishing messages Like this one, the perpetrators target user data, which they then misuse, for example, for spam attacks.
