The year is drawing to a close, but there are still features that WhatsApp wants to bring to market as soon as possible. One of them is a revised interface for voice calls. As WABetaInfo reported, the new user interface is currently being tested internally, which means that it cannot be tried out by public beta testers yet.

New user interface for voice calls and E2E label

WhatsApp is redesigning the voice call interface for a future update to make it more modern and to optimize the available space. “The new redesign will look particularly good on group calls,” writes WABetaInfo.

While it doesn’t look like much has changed at first glance, it does look better than the current version. Additionally, we still have to wait and see how WhatsApp will deal with some of the UI changes that are not shown on the posted screenshot.

WABetaInfo also reports that WhatsApp is working on an ad for end-to-end encryption (E2E). WhatsApp has been encrypting communication for a number of years, and now the company also wants to make it clear that the transmission is secure. For this reason, the team behind WhatsApp has decided to introduce appropriate notices. WABetaInfo explains:

“Not even WhatsApp and its parent company Meta can read or listen to them. WhatsApp wants to remind you that WhatsApp is a safe place to talk to your friends and family, so plans to introduce two indicators in a future update. “

As you can see on the screenshots, WhatsApp is working on new ads for the status and calls areas. A similar note should also be placed in the chats area.
