IDXChannel – Apple is currently rumored to be developing feature from iPhone which can help detect depression and other cognitive decline.
This was done in collaboration with the University of California, Los Angeles, and the pharmaceutical company Bioden, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, quoted from Cnet, Thursday (23/9/2021).
In documents and interviews obtained, Apple is looking at ways to build reliable detection algorithms by identifying signals found in the biometric data of iPhone users.
The data in question includes sleep patterns, mobility, and how users type on the iPhone. Through that algorithm, Apple hopes, can be the basis for new iPhone features.
Another health-related research partnership on Apple devices is an effort to create algorithms to detect autism in children by taking data from iPhone cameras and analyzing children’s data, according to the Journal. The partnership is reportedly the result of a collaboration with Duke University.
