REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Earlier this month, WhatsApp launched the ‘View Once’ feature which deletes messages after they are read. Now platform Facebook-owned messaging is working to extend the day limit for removing messages to 90 days.

This feature is currently under development and will be available in future development. Corresponding screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, users will be able to choose to keep the disappearing message option ‘Off’ or choose a time limit of 24 hours, seven days or 90 days.

Reported from LiveMint, Thursday (19/8), In a private chat, the option to get rid of the message can be activated by both parties. In a group conversation, anyone can change the settings, the group administrator can choose which members can by going to Group Settings under Group Info.

It looks like it will be some time before the feature is available to beta users. It may take weeks, or even months, before arriving at normal user accounts.

Previously, last November, WhatsApp had released a feature that automatically deletes messages after seven days, adding a 24-hour limit option in April this year.
