“Whatever condition we are in, we must live as fully as possible.” A touching story about a couple who got married in a social care home 50 years ago – Family – Apollo.lv – Woman

It happened back in 1969. Inārs met the Ināra in the Ropaži boarding house. She was quiet but very active. But at first he liked to drink.

“She is an extremely smart woman. If you have a smart wife in your family, you can live very well. She never let me in, screamed, just shook her head sadly and once said: well, if you want to drink so much, go to friends, go , drink, but do not drive home like a beast, “says Inārs. That was enough to live in the clear for decades to come.

As her health deteriorates, Ināra has impaired speaking skills. But Inars still understands him. He is currently the only one who understands his wife in half.

In 50 years, a lot of shared memory has accumulated. At first Inārs, but then also Ināra fell in love with photography. The works of both of them currently decorate the premises of the social care center “Mežciems”. They are both proud of them.

“No matter what condition we are in, no matter what fate has given us health, we must still try to live as fully as possible,” says Inārs.

But the sweet words of love even on the day of the golden wedding are missing: “The thought… In our state, both her and my way of life goes through pain, through disease. Without support and all that, you can’t live at all. If she weren’t, I certainly wouldn’t be.”

Together they have gone through a lot. 35 years ago, she was the one who wandered through the snow every day to the hospital while Inārs recovered from a heart attack. But 20 years later, he was the one who was present every day for a month and a half, while Inara went through a nightmare of radiation: “God still works for sure. Because all those two and a half months I rode a cart and never burst a tire or batteries. another fault. And not once was there a thing while I was driving. “

Although they happen differently in family life, even beyond the age of 80, they continue to push each other. How much can you.

“You know – both sick, both nervous. Something happens. But we have it: we can shout, and after a while we talk calmly, as if nothing had happened. That’s how we have been fighting and rejoicing here for 50 years,” says Inārs.
