What we know after the accidental death of a student in a school in Nice this Friday morning

It was around 10:20 a.m. on Friday morning when the incident occurred. A 9-year-old student at Saint-Philippe school in Nice, little Myriem was enjoying her recess when she fell in the yard.

According to the mayor, Christian Estrosi, the girl was playing ball before the tragedy. “Despite the heart massage that was given to her, nothing could bring her back to her, detailed the first magistrate, leaving the establishment. She was a lively little girl.”

According to the academy inspector, there was no jostling at the origin of the fall, even if the precise causes of the accident remain to be determined. “The medical examiner and the judicial police will have to deliver their conclusions”continues Christian Estrosi.

Present on site, the girl’s close family (particularly parents and grandparents) “going through terrible suffering”according to the mayor.

Myriem’s ​​little sister is also educated in the establishment. “The City will do everything to support the family, adds Christian Estrosi. She must be buried in Algeria in family traditions.”

While the majority of parents were called to pick up their child(ren) between 12 p.m. and 1:20 p.m., a psychological cell was set up in the establishment with the school doctor and nurse as well as psychologists.
