The Tokyo Olympics ended on Sunday August 8, 2021. France ends 8e on the medal table, with 33 awards. Two weeks ago, we presented the athletes and supervisors from Caen and Calvados. What were their results?
The sportsmen of Caen
Basket : Nicolas Batum, born in Lisieux (Calvados) then player of Caen and Pont l’Evêque, adds a nice charm to his prize list. After the medals at the European and World Championships, the captain of the Blues obtains Olympic silver. Throughout the competition, the France team thrilled the followers, especially against the United States in the pool and Slovenia in the semi-finals. Table tennis: Wang Yang need not be ashamed. The Caen TTC player finishes 17the in singles. He was eliminated in 3e round by the Japanese Koki Niwa (0-4). In the second round, he beat the Australian, Powell (4-0).
The sportsmen of Calvados
Aviron: Privel Hinkati is “happy with his performance”. The Beninese rower, born in Hérouville-Saint-Clair (Calvados), finished 27e rowing single scull. 26e out of 32 after the playoffs, he participated in the repechage. Last of his race, his time would have allowed him to advance to the semi-final in another race. He finishes 2e in the semi-finals of the draft and then 3e from the finale E.

Equitation : Eternal regrets … Penelope Leprévost, from the Saint-Arnoult club (Calvados) and Mathieu Billot, born in Deauville (Calvados), came close to an Olympic medal. Supervisors from Caen
