Last year, the Japanese from Suzuki introduced a “mild-hybrid” 48V hybrid propulsion system in their model range. The technology is available on the 1.4 liter Boosterjet “gas station”, which can be ordered on the Romanian market at a starting price of 16,790 euros including VAT.

According to the official price list, the cheapest version of the Suzuki Vitara has front-wheel drive and is offered in the “Cool” equipment level. It offers, among others, multi-reflector LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRL), black longitudinal ceiling bars, steel rims with 215/60 R16 covers, three-spoke steering wheel with controls for the audio system and autopilot, air conditioning with automatic adjustment, four-speaker audio system and cd player with mp3 and Bluetooth playback, cruise control, ABS, ESP, front airbags (driver + passenger), side airbags and curtain type, depending on brake assist, etc.

The most expensive version of the Suzuki Vitara Hybrid costs 22,790 euros with VAT, a price that includes the “Luxus” equipment level, the 1.4 Boosterjet engine and the “AllGrip” all-wheel drive system. The gearbox is a 6-speed manual.

According to the Japanese manufacturer, the “mild-hybrid” technology integrates a lithium-ion battery, which stores the electricity recovered during braking / deceleration, as well as a starter-generator.

The petrol engine with which it is equipped Suzuki Vitara Hybrid it is electrically assisted to start on the spot, which implies a number of benefits, such as an average reduced fuel consumption of up to 15% and a lower level of CO2 emissions of up to 20%.

By introducing this technology at 48V, the maximum torque offered is 235 Nm available from 2,000 rpm. The technology is only available on engine variants equipped with manual transmission.

The new sistem „mild-hybrid” is available in the range offered on the Romanian market and completely replaces the old standard 1.4 liter Boosterjet petrol engine.
