What is the ideal number of steps to lose weight? Check out the latest studies

Are you implementing a healthy lifestyle to lose weight? In addition to maintaining a healthy diet, walking is often said to help you lose weight.

Well, there is a recent study on this subject, Mom. The study showed that the number of steps per day can apparently aid weight loss.

At least 8,600 steps a day for a normal weight adult. Meanwhile, if adults are overweight they can take 11,000 steps in a day.

Researcher and cardiologist Evan Brittain explains that walking more can actually reduce the risk of obesity.

A large number of steps has a lot of benefits, Mom. Starting with reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, sleep apnea, hypertension, depression and even GERD. This is like a study published in the journal Nature Medicine on Monday (10/10/2022).

The study also analyzed an average of four years of activity and health data from more than 6,000 participants in the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us research program.

The study asked participants to wear an activity tracker for 10 hours a day. Then, the researchers had access to the electronic health records that had been collected in recent years.

“Our study had an average of four years of continuous activity monitoring. Thus, we were able to account for the totality of activity between the start of monitoring and the time the disease was diagnosed.” Brittain said.
