What if the iPhone allowed you to charge your AirPods or Apple Watch (double sided)

In current projects, there is a question that future iPhones can wirelessly charge other devices, both by placing them on the screen and on the back of the phone.

Bearing the fairly explicit name in the original version of Through-Display Wireless Charging, this patent -which has just been deposited with l’USPTO– proposes to use the iPhone screen as a charging mat. With the rumors Concerning Touch ID under the screen, the latter will begin to house a lot of things. This one would present several determined areas. The drawings in fact suggest a hybrid screen with a section dedicated to charging, which -in activity- would suspend all display.

note that Cupertino does not rule out extending this process to the iPad. Currently, only the top of the iPad can charge the Apple Pencil 2. The document states: such a configuration may include a tablet or smart phone configured to allow wireless charging of a stylus or other accessory on one face of the personal electronic device.
