What does the Ukrainian Lara Croft look like (PHOTOS)

The Ukrainian sniper Aleksandra Samsonova was already compared to Lara Croft in social networks at the beginning of the war because of the great similarity in her facial features to Angelina Jolie. Recently ELLE.UA magazine placed on its pages an interview with the 23-year-old girl who fought as a volunteer in the ranks of the Ukrainian military.

Alexandra tells the publication that she has 3 years of combat experience so far. Even on the day of the invasion of Russia, her first thought was who to leave her pets with because she knew she would be joining her comrades in arms. On February 28, she was already in her military unit. Until now, in addition to shooting at the occupiers, she has also provided medical aid, and she has also had to deal with administrative and clerical work.

She admits that over the years she has sometimes felt discriminated against in the military because of the fact that she is a woman, but says she is understanding about it. “I was lucky with the last division, from day one they treated me well there. But till the 24th I worked with different battalions where I faced discrimination. I accept it because I understand the reasons for such manifestations. In Ukraine, women soldiers who do their jobs on an equal footing with men are really an exception,” she says.

Russia's appetite grows: The Kremlin has announced another target in the war against Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov admitted that the purpose of the “special military operation” of the Russian Federation in Ukraine is to…

When asked what struck her the most after the outbreak of war, Alexandra answered: “My friends. Even after losing limbs and receiving serious injuries, they return to the front again. My friend Valentina, who during shelling in Nikolaev sells vegetables in the market to raise money for a bulletproof vest for her husband. My brother Andrey, who, even while he is at war, thinks not only about himself, but also about animals and rescues cats at the positions, and then finds them a home. These are our people. And these people are the face of Ukraine.”

Alexandra is convinced that the war will forever change her worldview. “Whether I like it or not, a lot will change after the war. My reactions, my views in general and my perception of life. I know for sure that I will begin to appreciate every moment until my friends and loved ones and most of all the fact that they are alive,” she says.
