Western Europe leads the continent’s coronavirus vaccination campaign

Record of contagion in several European countries such as Austria and Croatia. The highest daily numbers of positives by coronavirus of the entire pandemic.

The Government of Vienna has prohibited unvaccinated people from entering cafes, restaurants or hairdressers. In Croatia, a passport is required for meetings of more than 50 people.

These two countries are among those with the lowest vaccination rates on the continent. There are more than 80 million Europeans who are reluctant to get vaccinated.

The data, after almost a year since the coronavirus vaccination campaign began, allow us to see very clearly what is happening.

In Europe, the data shows that Western Europe leads in vaccination. The Eastern Europe, instead, it has a lower rate. However, deaths have increased in the UK by 12%.

Booster dose

On United Kingdom, the Government has accelerated the third dose until Monday. Those over 50, the most vulnerable, may request the injection in England one month before.

The experts warn that immunity weakens over time, especially for those particularly at risk. What worries the Government most is the rebound in coronavirus cases, that may overtake the health system.

On Germany, there’s also concern about the virus. They fear the new data with an incidence that shoots up to almost 184 cases, where vaccination has stagnated over 67%.
