Known for its SSDs and portable hard drives, the manufacturer Western Digital offers an original product under its G-Technology brand. The ArmorLock portable SSD encrypts data (AES 256-bit) to protect it from hackers, but above all stands out for its unlocking process.

To use the disc, you need to install a free app on your smartphone or tablet. For now, only the iOS version is available, but an Android version should arrive soon. The manufacturer also offers a macOS version of its app.
Western Digital plays the card of security, but also of performance. Thanks to an internal NVMe interface, the SSD is fast with speeds of up to 1000 MB / s in reading and writing. However, it must be connected to a computer with a USB 3.1 / 3.2 Gen2 port to use it.
The ArmorLock SSD is swift, but also rugged. Equipped with an aluminum case, according to the manufacturer, it withstands a fall from 3 meters from a height, a maximum pressure of 450 kg, as well as water and dust (IP67).
It is sold at a price of 599.99 euros for a comfortable capacity of 2 TB.
