Western Digital Launches First Encrypted NVMe Portable SSD That Unlocks With Your Smartphone

Known for its SSDs and portable hard drives, the manufacturer Western Digital offers an original product under its G-Technology brand. The ArmorLock portable SSD encrypts data (AES 256-bit) to protect it from hackers, but above all stands out for its unlocking process.

The ArmorLock SSD is swift, but also rugged. Equipped with an aluminum case, according to the manufacturer, it withstands a fall from 3 meters from a height, a maximum pressure of 450 kg, as well as water and dust (IP67).
