Werner Kraus is the new managing director for business customers of Magenta Telekom – mnews – medianet.at

VIENNA. Werner Kraus will become a new member of the management team at Magenta Telekom (T-Mobile Austria GmbH) on June 1, 2021 and, as B2B managing director, will be responsible for corporate customer business. He succeeds Maria Zesch, who will leave the company at her own request to take on an external management role. Kraus has been in the telecommunications sector for almost 30 years and has been responsible for the largest area in the B2B segment as Senior Vice President Business & Wholesale for the past 5 years.

“With Maria Zesch we are losing a defining personality for Magenta and I personally have been a long-time companion. At the same time, in Werner Kraus, we have an excellent successor for the B2B segment, who has already successfully managed sales, marketing and service for our business customers in recent years and has worked closely with Maria Zesch. As positive as this succession solution is, it makes me sad to lose such a long-time colleague in the management. I wish Maria Zesch the very best for her future and I am very much looking forward to further developing the successful B2B segment together with my colleagues and Werner Kraus in the management ”, says Andreas Bierwirth, CEO of Magenta Telekom.

“I am very much looking forward to continuing to shape the successful development in the B2B business, which I have been able to significantly advance in the past few years, as managing director. In doing business with corporate customers, trust, reliability and a spirit of partnership are essential elements for long-term cooperation, and that’s what I stand for with my entire team, ”explains Werner Kraus, the new B2B managing director at Magenta Telekom from June 1, 2021.

About Werner Kraus
Kraus started his professional career in 1991 at Alcatel Austria and in 1997 moved to max.mobil, a predecessor company of Magenta, as head of product management and later marketing director. In 2004 he switched to ucp.morgen as CMO, a software company that was taken over in 2006 by Amdocs, a global software provider specializing in telecommunications software. Kraus held several management positions there until 2016 and was responsible, among other things, as Vice President Customer Business for customer relations with the Deutsche Telekom Group. Kraus has been Senior Vice President Business & Wholesale at Magenta Telekom since April 2016 and is responsible for all B2B sales, business marketing and business service. Kraus is married and has three adult children. He has a degree in mechanical engineering and business administration from the Vienna University of Technology and has completed numerous executive management training courses.

About Maria Zesch
Maria Zesch will be responsible for the business customer segment and the digitization agendas of Magenta until the end of May 2021. Zesch has been with the Deutsche Telekom Group since 2003 and has held various management positions at T-Mobile Austria and its sister company T-Mobile Hrvatski since 2008. During her time at T-Mobile / Magenta, Zesch established successful concepts such as the “Loyal does not matter” campaign, the “T-Breakfast” event series and the B2B mission “Digital ahead”. She played a key role in the integration of UPC in Magenta and, with her team, built up the Magenta Business Segment with convergent services, IoT services, and new areas such as Smart City and Smart Building. Due to good customer growth in the SME sector as well as with major customers, Zesch is now handing over a rapidly growing segment. In addition to her focus on business customers, Zesch has also pushed Magenta’s digitization agenda forward. Under her aegis, the popular service app Mein Magenta was launched, the eCommerce share increased significantly and the CRM systems reorganized. (red)
