Mikaela Shiffrin set the fastest time in the first leg of the Lienz slalom. The American, however, is only 0’26 behind the Slovakian Petra Vlhova (2nd). Wendy Holdener and Michelle Gisin are respectively 7th and 8th after the passage of 30 competitors.
The Schwyzoise and the Obwalden conceded 1”12 and 1”21 to the Colorado skier. Aline Danioth succeeded in the 12th time, at 1”44. Present at the start of a World Cup race for the first time since January 30, 2018, Mélanie Meillard went into fault after 23 seconds of racing.
An impressive giant the day before, Mikaela Shiffrin is aiming for a 64th success on the White Circus, and only Petra Vlhova seems able to deprive her of it. Third in this first round, Nina Haver-Löseth is already 0”70 behind.
