San Isidro welcomed Anthony, the new Red Halcones player who will be making his debut on Wednesday in Rosario against Echagüe. The American is already under Torre’s command.
After a long trip from the United States, with subsequent delay in Buenos Aires due to sanitary provisions in the face of the pandemic, the new reinforcement of the “Santo” arrived in San Francisco this Sunday afternoon.
As soon as Anthony Johnson entered our city, he went directly to the “Severo Robledo” stadium to meet the coaching staff and his new teammates. The intern, with an important past in Bahía Basket, only performed some aerobic movements and from this Monday he will intensify his work.
Anthony, born on 05/19/1988 in Florida, United States, began his university career at Fairfield Stags of Fairfield University, an academic institution located in Fairfield, Connecticut. His last club was Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. In the Brazilian team he played 41 games with 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds on average in 13 minutes on the court. The North American showed his full potential at Weber Bahía in the 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2019 seasons.
His debut with the red jersey will take place next Wednesday in Rosario, when the fourth “bubble” of the Argentine League starts. That day, from 2:00 p.m. he will collide with Echagüe de Paraná, a rival that has 9 wins in a row.
