Weather report. Gradual end of the heat wave and thunderstorms: what to expect this Monday?

The heat wave will gradually end this Monday, June 20 in the country, and a new stormy wave will arrive in the evening on the Atlantic seaboard, foresees Meteo France.

Eleven departments of the Center-East remain in orange level for the heatwave parameter this Monday morning, according to the meteorological service bulletin published overnight from Sunday to Monday.

These are Jura, Saône-et-Loire, Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal, Haute-Loire, Loire, Rhône, Ain, Isère and Drôme.

Ten departments are still on orange alert for thunderstorms this Monday morning: Gironde, Lot-et-Garonne, Gers, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot, Dordogne, Allier, Corrèze, Haute -Vienna and the Charente.

Thunderstorms, hailstones and strong gusts of wind

Strong thunderstorms indeed broke out last night, on an axis going from the Paris basin to the Yonne and as far as the Ardennes, accompanied by intense rains, heavy hailstorms and sometimes strong gusts. Hailstones of 4 to 5 cm were observed in particular in Loiret and Seine-et-Marne.

Very intense rainfall accumulations were recorded: 47 mm in 1 hour including 30 mm in less than 15 minutes in Vierzon, 60 mm in 30 minutes including 40 mm in 15 minutes in Lorris (Loiret).

Strong gusts of wind were also observed, ranging from 76 km / h in Bourges to 96 km / h in Aubigny-sur-Nère, in Cher.

Sunny weather over half the country

For Monday, the weather is summery from the Massif Central to the Alps and Jura, to the Mediterranean and Corsica. On the South-West, maritime entries of low clouds cover the sky at daybreak, with a few drops on the Pyrenean foothills, then the sun will impose itself during the morning.

On the North-East, a few showers persist in the early morning, then the clearings develop.

On the North-West, the sky is loaded with a few small scattered showers. The clearings widen during the day, the sky is variable.

On the other hand, in Hauts-de-France in the morning, then in Normandy, Ile-de-France and Champagne-Ardennes in the afternoon, the weather was calm and sunny, in a slightly cooler atmosphere.

New stormy wave on the Atlantic coast

A new stormy wave tumbles in the early evening on the Atlantic coast. The sky is covered with temporarily marked stormy rains, accompanied by strong gusts of wind and sometimes hail.

These storms are shifting over the northwestern quarter of the country during the night, gradually easing.

The very high temperatures of the past few days are easing, except in Lyonnais.

The maximums are between 20 and 27 degrees north of the Loire, between 28 and 32 in Alsace, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the Centre, the South-West, PACA and Corsica. In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the thermometer still shows 31 to 36 degrees.
