Offenbach (dpa / lrs) – At the weekend, winter returns in places to Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. From Thursday noon it can be rainy with isolated thunderstorms at first, the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Thursday morning. In the afternoon and evening, it could also rain at times. The maximum temperature during the day is between eight degrees in the Eifel and 15 degrees in the Vorderpfalz.
Even on Friday night it rains from time to time. Snow is then also possible in the north. The temperatures drop to four degrees in the Vorderpfalz and to minus two degrees in the Eifel and in the high forest. In some areas it can be slippery.
On Friday it continues to rain, snow is possible in the lowlands. In the course of the day, however, the sun can sometimes show itself. The maximum values are three to eight degrees. In the night of Saturday it is occasionally foggy and in parts slippery. Frost has to be expected with lows between minus two degrees on the Rhine and minus eight degrees in the valleys of the mountainous region.
