Weather, Meteorological Institute | Now the heat from Europe is spreading towards Norway

German, French and Spanish meteorologists are warning, and now the hot air is heading north.

OSLO (Nettavisen): Meteorologists in Germany, France and Spain are out warning of UV radiation and intense heat as temperatures are again expected to rise well above 30 degrees on Wednesday.

In Norway, the forecasts from the Meteorological Institute show temperatures up to 25 degrees during the week, perhaps more, when the intense heat from the continent sets in motion.

At the same time, low pressure is on the way, so on Wednesday morning, state meteorologist Eldbjørg Moxnes is careful not to promise too much:

– It will not be very hot, no heat wave feeling exactly, because there is also a changing cloud cover, she says to Nettavisen.

Still, 25 degrees is definitely within reach.

– But it will probably not be 30 degrees, she says.

– Real summer heat

– They have real summer heat in southern Europe now, in Spain with 34 degrees at 14. On Thursday, the heat spreads north, and we can get 30 degrees south in Sweden and Denmark, state meteorologist Pernille Borander told Nettavisen on Tuesday.

German DWD is out with “Hitzewarnung” and is waiting over 30 degrees southwest of the country on Wednesday. At the same time, UV intensity is high, especially in the north and northeast.

In France, Meteo France states that the first half of June has been the second warmest in the country since the measurements began.

The forecasts on Wednesday point in the direction of another hot day in France. It is expected up to 35 degrees in Bourges and Lyon and 34 degrees in Strasbourg and Tolouse.

In Spain, it is expected to rise to 36 degrees, including in Saragossa in the northeast of the country, reports The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

French meteorologists has been out and indicated very high temperatures from the Benelux countries to the Baltics on Thursday, but it is unclear whether it is by definition a heat wave parts of Europe are now experiencing. The definition of a heat wave is that the temperature should be 5 degrees above normal maximum temperature for five days in a row.

Rise throughout the country

On Thursday, the temperature is expected to rise in both the south and north of Norway, according to Meteorological Institute:

– In the next few days, the temperature will rise throughout the country, but in the north you have to be patient with anticipation of more summer heat, they write on Twitter.

On Thursday, the hot air from the continent is expected to affect us fully. Trondheim, for example, can expect 23 degrees, Lillehammer and Skien 25 degrees and Oslo a full 25 degrees.

Friday suggests Yr.no 26 degrees in Skien.

– It can be even warmer in the inner regions south of Eastern Norway, said state meteorologist Pernille Borander at the Meteorological Institute to Nettavisen on Tuesday.

– The weekend will be more varied, but the hot air persists, and it can be temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees. A precipitation area is expected to give the most precipitation in Western Norway and in Agder, but night to Friday there may be scattered showers in Eastern Norway. Then it will be even more in Eastern Norway on Saturday, so it can be a balmy weekend, says Borander.

– Will it occasionally rain on the weekend?

– It will probably be quite even, at least on Saturday. Then the precipitation will gradually move north night to Sunday and Sunday morning. Then it will be a little more pleasant weather and sun Østafjells. Next week, the forecasts start to differ a bit. It very much depends on where the high pressure is located, says the meteorologist.

Tana bridge noted 27 degrees

This weekend, by the way, it was the Tana bridge in Finnmark that was the warmest in the country. It was measured 27 degrees.

The low pressures come in from the sea and provide clouds and rain in Western Norway and north this week, but it will be gradually warmer, and Western Norway and Trøndelag can expect temperatures up to 20 degrees on Thursday.

– Do they get sun too?

– Yes, that was it. It will occasionally rain until Friday, but expected weather and sun this weekend. Then it is Eastern Norway that receives the precipitation. Trøndelag may get a little more cloudy weather. In northern Norway, the heat can wait, but Nordland can also expect closer to 20 degrees, the forecasts for Sunday show. Further north it is a little cooler, says Borander.
