Weather forecast for today Monday, May 17, 2021

Moderate rains and a hot environment will prevail in the Tabasco territory

The Civil Protection Institute of the State of Tabasco (IPCET), informs the general population that a low pressure channel in the western part of the state interacts with an anticyclonic circulation and humidity contribution from the Pacific and the Caribbean, which will favor drizzles of 0.1 to 5 millimeters (mm) to moderate levels from 5.1 to 25 mm in Huimanguillo, Tenosique and the Sierra region, without ruling out a higher record in Los Ríos.

According to the meteorological report, these rains can be accompanied by electrical activity and can occur in the evening and at night, so it is recommended that the population take forecasts.

Likewise, the agency forecasts partially cloudy skies with winds from the East and Southeast of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour (km / h) and gusts of up to 40 km / h, mainly in the coastal area and the eastern part of the state.

It is expected for the entire Tabasco territory, a warm to hot environment with maximum temperatures of 35 to 38 degrees Celsius, and minimum temperatures of 23 to 26 degrees, so it is important to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible to avoid blows of heat.

So far this year, 290 grassland fires have been registered, 25 of these so far in May, so it is reiterated to the population that in case of burning, the Municipal Unit must be notified corresponding Civil Protection.

Regarding the river traffic lights, the report indicates that the tributaries are below their Ordinary Maximum Water Level (NAMO), without representing any risk to the population; same condition in the Alto Grijalva Hydroelectric System.
