Wearing a mask now compulsory for any gathering of more than 10 people

We will have to comply with it. The prefecture of Oise made it compulsory, until September 7, to wear a mask throughout the department for all public gatherings of more than 10 people, in order to try to stop the “unfavorable development” of the epidemic of
Covid-19, she announced on Tuesday
in a press release.

“The department of Oise is experiencing an unfavorable development in the incidence rate and the rate of positivity”, warns the prefecture, which has decided to “make the wearing of a mask compulsory throughout the department, from Monday 17 August at 6 pm and until Monday September 7, 2020 at midnight ”.

Fine of 135 euros to offenders

In this department which was from February one of the cradles of the epidemic in France, the mask is now mandatory for people over 11 years “in public gatherings of a festive, cultural, economic, sporting nature. or memorial (…) or in a place open to the public and bringing together more than ten people simultaneously ”. Violation of this rule is punished with a fine of 135 euros.

Despite the decrees taken in many French cities requiring the wearing of masks outdoors, the statistical indicators of contamination have started to rise again and worry the health authorities and the government, who fear a second wave of the epidemic.
