The last topic in today’s Night City Wire conference was weapons – we can look at the new gameplay trailer and we also learned many details from the following interview, in which one of the weapons developers introduced us in detail.
The first interesting information is that weapons are divided into three categories. These are:
- Power weapons
- Tech weapons
- Smart weapons
Power weapons are very similar to those we know and work like ordinary weapons – with one difference. Their projectiles can bounce off surrounding surfaces, which you can use to easily destroy a hidden target.
Tech weapons, on the other hand, use electromagnetic energy, thanks to which projectiles gain extraordinary penetration. With the help of them, you can easily get rid of a target that is hidden behind the wall, or a target that has no idea that you are nearby.
Smart weapons are, as the name suggests, technically very advanced and their projectiles themselves will find their target. This comes in handy, for example, when your target is moving very fast or trying to run away from you.
We also learned how it will be possible to obtain individual weapons. It will be possible to buy a lot of weapons in designated stores, but the best ones will only be available from enemies or if you are lucky and find one.
Subsequently, we experienced another division – the weapons will be divided from ordinary to rare and legendary, while each legendary weapon will offer you unique abilities. But to get them, we will have to make difficult decisions – as an example, killing a character for his weapon or saving him, because you will like her.
The last information that the creators dealt with in this section were modifications. These are divided into two groups: accessories (silencers, riflescopes, collimators) and software modifications, which are chips that improve the statistics of your weapon.
The game will be released on November 19 on PCs, PS4s, Xbox One and also on the upcoming generation of consoles, specifically on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Owners of PS4 / Xbox One versions can look forward to a free upgrade when purchasing the PS5 / Xbox Series X.
