After a stable number during the last blood collection organized by the EFS (French Blood Institute), on Friday afternoon, in the Bourgogne room of La Filature, François Bachelard, president of the blood donor association, responds about his ambitions and about the future.
What is the role of Blood Donor Association volunteers?
“We organize everything that revolves around the drive itself: exhibition, snack, installation and we promote blood donation. »
Has there been a decline in post-Covid donations since 2020?
“One collection had a result below our expectations but we were unable to be present due to restrictions and EFS had to organize itself. Show all the interest of our friends for the area. We are known there thanks to the involvement of our 12 volunteers, who don’t count their time. »
What motivates volunteers?
“Basically, we know that donating blood is essential for the sick, the injured… But also to keep the reserves up to expectations, without being just in time. Secondly, we have a good team and a excellent understanding, although new hands would be welcome. »
And the future?
“The friendly will do everything to maintain a good rate of donations. »
