On Monday, the 1st round of the Europa League qualifying rounds was drawn. Three Polish teams will play in it: Lech Poznan, Piast Gliwice and Cracovia. “Kolejorz” drew the Latvian team of Valmiera FC. Due to the pandemic, only one meeting, which will be held in Poznań, will decide about the promotion. Rival Lech took fourth place in the Latvian league in the 2019 season (in Latvia, the spring-autumn system is played). Valmiera was promoted to the cups thanks to winning the Latvian Cup by RFS Riga, which was also the runner-up of the country. In the current season, Valmiera is third in the table after 13 matches.

The Lech Poznań match was to be broadcast on TVP Sport, as reported by Marek Szkolnikowski. On Tuesday, the station’s director provided another message via social media, which will not be satisfied with Kolejorz fans. It turns out that the match will not be broadcast on Telewizja Polska – Unfortunately, the champagnes fired too early … I will not comment on the matter, because I am a gentleman – wrote Szkolnikowski on Twitter.
The sport.interia.pl portal informed that walk Polsat Sport won the title to show Lech’s first match in this year’s fight to enter the European cups. The match will be played on August 27 at 21:00.
