When you have just lent your smartphone to a loved one, a Facebook Messenger chat window appears. Faced with this situation which may bother some users, the application has launched a new feature, called App Lock, which allows you to hide your conversations, Facebook announced on his blog on Wednesday.
The principle is simple: when it is opened, the app scans your fingerprint or your face to allow you to read the discussions, explains PhonAndroid.
To activate the lock, simply go to the “Privacy” tab of the app, then click on “Lock apps” and activate the “Require Face ID” or “Require Touch ID” button, Details Numerama. You can then choose the length of time the app will ask you for your identity again.
The function is currently only available to iOS users. Deployment to Android devices should take place in the coming months.
